How Long Have You Been Here?: Elisabeth arrived in November 2008.

Mutation: * Telekinesis: Ability to psionically manipulate the physical aspects of reality. She can also move and levitate other people. While she can move objects from a distance and fly as other telekinetics do, she has shown little inclination to do either in combat situations. She can also create telekinetic shields of various sizes and strength. Because she is able to manipulate psionic energy, Psylocke often manifests either a katana blade or psionic knives composed of raw psi-energy, which at its lowest intensity, functions to disrupt neural pathways and sever the bonds between molecules, and at its highest level, her katanas can slice an armored opponent and cut through the armor.

* Telepathy: Psy is a high order telepath who possesses vast mental powers that affect and manipulate the minds of other sentient beings. She is able to read minds mentally communicate with others over long distances. Through her telepathy, she uses enhanced psionic senses in order to detect and track other sentient beings by their unique psionic emanations (thought patterns contained in the psionic portion of the spectrum).

Personality: Elisabeth was born and raised in England and is the twin sister of Brian Braddock/Captain Britain. She lives by her own rules and is both hated and feared by the human world. Psylocke is very passionate about being an X-Man and for the few she lets into her life, she treasures them to no end. She has a fierce fighting spirit and enjoys the thrill of hand-to-hand combat. She is sassy, flirtatious, and delightfully random at times. Psylocke considers herself to be sophisticated, wise, and able to handle a sticky situation; Xavier taught her well. She absolutely adores attention from the right people. Psy likes to give favored people nicknames to show said favor towards them. Though in a Japanese body, she still possesses her British accent. However, she is fluent in French, Spanish, German, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.

Dress Style: Using her former modeling days as a keen sense of style, Psylocke is often found in articles of clothing that are either revealing, clingy, accentual to her shape, or all of the above. She prefers dresses and skirts over pants or shorts and despite her height, still wears heels. There seems to be an Asian “theme” to her style and she adores corsets.

Manner of Speech: Crisp British accent chock full o’ slang and Japanese terms every now and again. She is very well spoken, eloquently so, and her intelligence often shows as much through it.

Manner of Movement: Psylocke reeks of seduction and confidence and it shows in her step. She learned how to carry oneself and sit properly from her modeling days in Britain; her shoulders are always straight, her hips saunter, and when she is sitting, she never slouches.

Physical Description: Psylocke is trapped in a body of Asian decent with long black and purple hair that just skims her shoulder blades. She has almond shaped mud brown eyes, stands at 5 feet 11 inches, and is voluptuous. She has a tattoo along her spine in traditional Japanese kanji symbols that translates to “From the mud to the stars.” As a member of the X-Men, one does quite a bit of running around: therefore, Psy’s body is muscular, though a far cry from butch. She is just slightly more muscular than your average Jane Doe.

History: Elisabeth Braddock was born a twin with her brother Brian to Elizabeth and Dr James “Black Bishop” Braddock; once a denizen of Otherworld, an interdimensional kingdom positioned at the nexus of reality, where science and sorcery exist as one.

Elisabeth developed psychic powers at a young age, which she used in service of the British law-enforcement agency known as S.T.R.I.K.E. -- a counterpart of S.H.I.E.L.D., a global intelligence and peacekeeping organization. By day, she was a "face." She dominated the covers of the world's fashion magazines, just as she ruled the runways from Milan to New York. By night, however, she lived a secret life -- serving her homeland as a special agent.

When her twin brother Brian stepped down as Captain Britain, his sister was persuaded to take up the mantle. But Elisabeth's career as England's preeminent costumed champion came to an untimely end when one of her brother's foes, Slaymaster, savagely beat her until she lay near death and blind. Realizing that her telepathic abilities compensated for her lack of sight, Elisabeth traveled to Switzerland to recuperate. There, she became a prisoner of the other-dimensional creature called Mojo, who took control of Elisabeth's will and gifted her with artificial eyes. Ultimately, she was rescued by Professor Charles Xavier and his New X-Men. The so called "Mutant Massacre" occurred shortly thereafter, drawing Lis into combat once more as she fought against the brutal and savage Sabretooth in a brawl throughout the mansion; this would not be their last encounter. Impressed by her courage, the battle-ravaged X-Men offered her a position on the team; she accepted and adopted the codename Psylocke.

Her most significant transformation took place when the Chinese crime lord called the Mandarin and the other-dimensional sorceress known as Spiral transplanted her psyche into the body of Kwannon, a Ninja assassin. Likewise, Kwannon's essence came to dwell in Elisabeth's form. The two women maintained their own distinct personalities, while acquiring each other's memories and skills. For a time, a brainwashed Elisabeth adopted the guise of Lady Mandarin -- the top assassin for the Hand, a clan of Ninja dedicated to world domination. When Kwannon succumbed to the lethal mutant plague known as the Legacy Virus, Elisabeth became trapped forever in her new form.

Sabretooth returned and leashed an attack on Psylocke that nearly killed her. Wolverine, Angel (the two of which had started to fall in love), Doctor Strange, and Gomurr the Ancient used a mystical force from the Crimson Dawn dimension to save her. Kuragari, conquerer of the Crimson Dawn realm, attempted to corrupt Psylocke and make her his queen, but Angel and Psylocke defeated the tyrant. She left that place alter once more, with enhanced fighting and telepathic skills, as well as the ability to transport through and become one with shadows. The mark of the Crimson Dawn, a red tattoo covering her left eye, was imprinted on her face.

After a brief period away from the X-Men, Elisabeth was tricked by the Shadow King into producing a psi-wave removing all mutant telepathy and allowing him to control every mind on Earth. Although she should have died, Lis’ Crimson Dawn powers saved her yet again. In a foolish mistake, the Shadow King expanded his powers too far allowing his personal nexus to be exposed. Lis was able to trap and defeat Farouk, and in the process, she gained vast telekinetic abilities through Jean Grey’s help.

Soon after, Angel broke up Elisabeth after seeing her being overly flirty with Thunderbird, and the two admitted that their relationship had hit a dead end. She then joined Storm's X-Treme X-Men squad and left the Xavier Institute in search of Destiny's 13 diaries that foretell the future. In Valencia, Spain the X-Men were captured by Spain's national police, who experimented on the mutants to test their powers and fighting abilities. Separated from the team with Beast and Rogue, Vargas suddenly arrived claiming to be the first of the true homo sapiens superior. Eliabeth was the last one standing, leaving her to duel Vargas. Vargas impaled her through the chest with his sword and she was presumed dead.

Important Relationships: *Previously dated Archangel/Angel, for a few years. Was madly in love with him, but has been able to remain close friends.

*Considers her best friends to be Nightcrawler and Archangel/Angel.

*Holds deep animosity against Sabretooth.

An important side note: I HATE the name Betsy, therefore Psy prefers to not go by this name. Bets, ‘Beth, Psy, Psy-Psy, Psylocke, Lis, Elisabeth, ‘Lisbeth, Lissie, etc. all work nicely.
